Giving a community idea its first shape
Someone posts the familiar image again, and someone else suggests putting it on a bag. There is an idea in that exchange, but several decisions still sit between the joke and an object people would choose to own. A useful proposal makes those decisions visible.
Choose one reference and one reason
Start with the character or moment the community recognizes. Explain why it belongs on an object and who might use it. A small, specific proposal is easier to discuss than a catalogue of unrelated products.
Record where the artwork came from and what permission exists to use it. A creator contribution, a community association, and a manufacturing licence are not interchangeable.
Let the format ask a concrete question
Use Community’s design entry to develop the product idea and prepare the visuals. Describe what is still undecided: the expression, the shape, the print placement, or the size.
A product preview communicates the proposed design. Label it as a preview until there is a physical sample, and use actual sample photographs when discussing material or finish.
Publish a proposal people can respond to
A petition gives the idea a public home where people can understand it and express interest. Useful feedback names a change or a reason to participate. Do not present a proposal as a completed production run or turn informal enthusiasm into a claimed order count.

Explain the next decision as clearly as the first
If the idea advances to a public drop, the offer needs current product details, pricing, timing, and fulfillment terms. If it does not advance, that outcome should remain understandable to the people who followed it.
Support does not automatically transfer ownership of artwork or guarantee production. The current proposal and offer pages explain the actual participation terms; the Journal follows the reasoning and work behind them.
